THE Xiaomi presented this last Sunday the smartphones Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, its new premium cell phones. In China, the models are already on pre-sale, with deliveries starting this Wednesday (14).
As previously disclosedthe Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, revealed in November. Following the announcement of unsurprising specs, these smartphones will feature a camera suite made in partnership with Leica.
Xiaomi 13 — new cameras on the rear set
Xiaomi has not brought major developments in its “base” premium. The highlights among the news on the Xiaomi 13 are in its cameras. The telephoto sensor went from 5 MP (f/2.4) to 10 MP (f/2.0) on the new smartphone🇧🇷 This new camera has a 3.2x optical zoom and optical image stabilizer (OIS) — reducing blur when taking pictures.
The ultra-wide lens is now 12 MP, on the Xiaomi 12 it was 13 MP (an indifferent change). Its capture angle is 120º and it has an aperture of f/2.2.
The main sensor (angular) continues with 50 MP, with the same OIS and PDAF resources, this is the technology that allows the camera to focus faster on the object to be photographed.

All three rear cameras have lenses manufactured by Leica, one of the main manufacturers of this type of equipment in the world. The selfie camera (in a punch hole on the screen) is 16 MP, the same configuration used on the 13 Pro.
The 4,500 mAh battery is the same as the Xiaomi 12, with support for fast charging of 67 W wired and 50 W wireless.
The Xiaomi 13 AMOLED screen has the same settings as the Pro version, only changing the size and resolution – 6.36 inches with Full HD + on the base model and 6.73 inches with Quad HD + on the 13 Pro.
The screen has a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a maximum brightness of 1,900 nits, HDR 10+, Dolby Vision and HLG support. In terms of sound, the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro have Dolby Atmos.
Xiaomi 13 Pro uses Sony IMX989 sensor from 12S Ultra

The Xiaomi 13 Pro camera configuration continues with three 50 MP cameras, but the main sensor is now the Sony IMX989 measuring 1 inch. This equipment is used in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, but the difference is also in having Leica lenses.
The other cameras (telephoto and ultra-wide) have autofocus, however the telephoto uses the more advanced PDAF technology.
Both Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro can shoot in 8K at 24 fps. It is still possible to shoot in 4K 24 fps, 30 fps or 60 fps. Recording in 1080p, it is possible to reach 960 fps.
It will be interesting to see the results of the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro images with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Qualcomm promises that its chip will be able to more easily identify the elements of a scene, such as the sky, sea or grass. As a result, image adjustments should be more accurate.
The battery of the Xiaomi 13 Pro has 4,820 mAh, support for 120 W fast wired and 50 W wireless charging.
The memory settings of the two smartphones are as follows:
- 8GB + 128GB
- 8GB + 256GB
- 12GB + 256GB
- 12GB + 512GB
