THE National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) carried out the approval of the PlayStation 5 high-performance controller in Brazil. With the official launch scheduled for January 26, 2023, the DualSense Edge may arrive in our country on the same date as in the United States. Even with the high price, the gadget is already starting the year as one of the highlights of the Japanese company’s console.
The certification was issued on December 22, 2022 and was requested by Sony Interactive Entertainment do Brasil. As a result, the DualSense Edge received product code CFI-ZCP1. This means that from that date, the company can already market the product throughout the national territory.
It is worth pointing out that in Anatel’s documentation there is no confirmation about the manufacture of the joystick, whether or not it will take place in Brazil.
In any case, PlayStation 5 owners can now get excited, as everything indicates that it won’t take long for the control to appear in stores. The main doubt is its price here, as in the United States it will cost US$ 199.99 (from R$ 1,050). Unfortunately, it’s not always that direct conversion ends up taking place.
Sony claims it designed the DualSense Edge for competitive gamers, who seek the ultimate level of performance and customization. Thus, there are extra buttons on the back of the gadget for function mapping and replaceable sets of analog sticks.
Another feature that draws attention is the remapping of buttons through software. The player will be able to define what each option will do in their main games. It will also be possible to save profiles so you don’t have to redo everything every time you start a game.
Of course, the standard functions of the PlayStation 5 controller will be maintained, such as adaptive triggers and the front touchpad. On the other hand, this means that the battery will also be the same.
As the DualSense Edge will offer more features than the regular model, it is to be expected that the internal power will last less. that was confirmed by the Japanese company, something that comes to be discouraging. If we think that the battery doesn’t last long in the original version of the joystick (about 10 hours), then be prepared to use the USB-C cable a lot during the games.
Do you intend to purchase this accessory? Do you believe that the functions are worth the hefty price?
