THE apple presented, this Tuesday (18), an update to the iPad Pro. As Apple M2, the new generation of the tablet hits the market with screens up to 12.9 inches and support for Apple Pencil. The release still brings iPadOS 16 and is compatible with 5G. But prepare your pocket, because the product will cost up to R$ 28,499 in Brazil.
The update guarantees more performance to the Apple tablet. The increment is offered by the Apple M2, the new processor of the brand for computers and that is already present in the MacBook Air. According to the manufacturer, the chip has 15% faster performance and 35% faster graphics than the Apple M1 from the previous generation.
“The M2 chip also offers 100GB/s of unified memory bandwidth — 50% more than the M1 — and supports up to 16GB of fast unified memory, making multitasking and working with large assets even more fluid,” announced.
All this power helps ensure the device’s unique performance. In the press release, the manufacturer said that the new iPad Pro helps to work with applications that require a lot of graphics processing. The tablet also supports editing of videos recorded with ProRes.
The release has the following amounts of RAM:
- Models with 128GB, 256GB and 512GB of storage: 8 GB of memory;
- Models with 1 TB and 2 TB of storage: 16 GB of memory.
iPad Pro has up to 12.9 inches and Apple Pencil
Apple kept the 11-inch and 12.9-inch models, with the largest being mini LED. In common, the two models are compatible with the second generation Apple Pencil, which is now detected 12 mm above the display. This way, users have more precision when using the pen which is still sold separately.
The tablet’s design doesn’t bring many changes either. In the upper left corner, there is a square module, like on the iPhone, to house the dual camera and the LiDAR sensor. The release still has reduced edges around the screen and the front camera with Face ID support to unlock the tablet screen.
Continuing the list of news, iPadOS 16 will be present on the new tablet. Thus, users will be able to enjoy features that optimize iPad multitasking, such as Stage Manager. THE update announced in June at WWDC 2022it still guarantees other benefits, including improvements in native apps.
The tablet also follows with the 5G support (sub-6GHz and mmWave). According to Apple, the device can reach speeds of up to 2.4 Gb/s, double the previous generation. The launch even offers Wi-Fi 6E to ensure faster wireless connections and a USB-C port with Thunderbolt and USB 4.
