To create an account on telegram, you need to have a phone on hand. But this procedure is no longer exclusive: the messenger gained an option to access it without an operator chip. This Tuesday’s update (6) allows users to use the Fragment platform to acquire an anonymous number.
Telegram’s login system has always required a carrier chip to be accessed. This measure is similar to other platforms, like WhatsApp and Signalwhich relates the phone number to the account.
This credential could be used both for login and for contacting others.
Telegram also offers an alternative to find friends, relatives, co-workers and the like: a user.
The messenger, on the other hand, went further. With the new version, users will be able to create accounts without depending on a carrier chip.
According to the team behind the servicethrough the novelty, it will be possible to “log in using anonymous blockchain-based numbers available on the Fragment platform”.

How does login via blockchain work?
The whole system depends on Fragment. The service, which can be accessed with your messenger account, became known for auctions to sell rare usernames on Telegram.
Now, the system will be used for other purposes. Through the platform, it will be possible to bid to buy anonymous numbers with the international code +888.
“Purchase an ID not linked to a SIM card and log in to Telegram with just your blockchain account,” reads the description of the page to buy the number. “These numbers will only work on Telegram.”
The transaction is carried out within the platform. The same happens with payments, via blockchain, which will be made with Toncoins.
If you prefer, it is also possible to create random numbers for 9 Toncoins.

Is access really anonymous?
In fact, if you don’t use a phone number, it becomes more difficult to know who is responsible for the account. After all, in the case of Brazil, Anatel requires people to enter a CPF to activate cell lines, even if it’s prepaid.
That is, when buying a telephone line, you will always need to identify yourself. The rule also applies to tourists.
On the other hand, by blockchain, this authentication factor is left out. But this does not mean that everything will be done in absolute secrecy.
In India, for example, Telegram had to hand over personal data of people accused of piracy following a ruling by the Delhi High Court. Among the information revealed are the names, phone numbers and IP addresses of administrators of the investigated channels.
The pressure happens in other countries. In Brazil, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), ordered the platform to be blocked in Brazil if he did not cooperate with investigations into a fake news network.
It didn’t take long and the CEO of the messenger, Pavel Durov, responded to requests and apologized for the “miscommunication”🇧🇷 Later, the platform entered into a partnership with TSE to combat fake news in the 2022 elections.

Telegram is updated; see the news
This is not the only novelty of Telegram. In addition to chipless login, users have the option to delete all chats automatically. The option is available in the messenger’s “Privacy and Security” settings.
Topics join the news list. In version 2.0, the tool will appear on the home screen of the messaging app. There are also feature improvements to prevent spam, iOS emoji search, temporary QR code and more.
The new version is now available to all messaging app users.
